Danielle Ponder Shares Deluxe Edition of ‘Some of Us Are Brave’

R&B

Rising soul singer and songwriter Danielle Ponder has released a deluxe edition of her debut album, Some Of Us Are Brave, via Future Classic.

Some Of Us Are Brave (Deluxe) contains all eight songs from the standard edition, plus Ponder’s new single “Roll The Credits,” as well as unheard live versions of a few album cuts, and a demo of Ponder’s “Someone Like You.”

There’s also a special remix of the titular track with soul-funk musician and producer Georgia Anne Muldrow.

“‘Roll The Credits’ is a song about spirituality in all of its forms and our ability to find God in all things if we are paying attention,” Ponder explained.

The standard version of Some Of Us Are Brave was released Sept. 16, 2022. It includes Ponder’s popular tracks such as “So Long” and “Only The Lonely.”

Regarding her debut, the vocal sensation said, “I was going through a lot of personal shit these past couple of years; lots of introspection and trying to understand my heart and find my footing in relationships.”

Ponded added, “I write the songs I need to survive the situations I am in, and these are those songs. In their pure rawest forms, they are what provides me comfort. I can only hope that people who are experiencing some of the same things I have will also find that these are songs that will help them push through it. Through this album, I hope to become freer, less afraid to face the truth, and ultimately find my tribe, people who feel it, people who get it.”

Ponder is currently on the road supporting The Teskey Brothers and Black Pumas on their respective tours. She has upcoming stops in Dana Point, California; Brooklyn, New York; and Atlanta, Georgia, to name a few. (The tour dates are listed below.)
