Daniel Caesar had fans from all parts of the world eating out of his hand when he released his independently-issued debut album, Freudian, in 2017.
Now, after glowing reviews and recognition from the press and the Recording Academy, the treasured set has added one million equivalent units to its sales, taking it to platinum status.
Freudian boasted co-stars, including Charlotte Day Wilson, Syd, Kali Uchis, and H.E.R., whose chart-topping duet titled “Best Part” won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance in 2019.
Caesar’s other number-one single, “Get You,” featuring Uchis, now makes up multi-platinum sales of more than four million. The track served as the first taste from the LP.
If Caesar’s recent certifications aren’t bright enough, his awards self could be after receiving 2022 Grammy nominations for his work last year with Justin Bieber.
The hit single, “Peaches,” which also features Givēon, is nominated for several Grammys, including Record and Song of the Year, as well as Best R&B Performance and Best Music Video.
He’s also running for Album of the Year for his contribution to Bieber’s Justice album.
Caesar last released his sophomore album Case Study 01 in 2019. It featured his jointly shared duet “Love Again” with Brandy. It reigned atop of R&B charts that same year and received a Grammy nod for Best R&B Performance in 2020.
In November 2021, Caesar inked a worldwide administration agreement with Warner Chappell Music. He also appears on FKA twigs’ recent mixtape Caprisongs.
