Grammy-winning singer Daniel Caesar has tapped indie folk band Bon Iver for his new single “Moon.” It will appear on his forthcoming album,Son of Spergy, which releases Oct. 24 via Hollace/Republic Records.
Over a hushed production, comforted by soft guitar and delicate piano, Caesar looks inward and outward as he contemplates everything from longing to belonging. “Who’s gonna fight for me? Who will advocate?” he asks over the reflective ballad.
Son of Spergywill also include the previously shared tracks “Have A Baby (With Me)” and “Call On Me.” The album will feature additional collaborations with Sampha, Blood Orange, Yebba, 646yf4t (pronounced “babyfat”) and his father Norwill Simmonds.
Bon Iver not only appears on “Moon” but also on the closing track, “Sins Of The Father.”

Speaking on the album, he told Billboard, “It’s about religion, but more importantly, it’s about my father. In your childhood, your father is a lot like God. He’s the person you fear the most on earth and also the person whose love and respect you desire more than anyone else on earth. It’s the source from where all your blessings come.”
Son of Spergy follows Caesar’s 2023 album, Never Enough. The latter project included standouts such as “Always,” “Superpowers,” “Valentina,” “Let Me Go” and “Do You Like Me?” It also featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Omar Apollo, serpentwithfeet and Mustafa.
