Coco Jones Shares New Song ‘Love Is War’

R&B

Rising singer Coco Jones has teamed with Amazon Music to release an original song titled “Love Is War” as part of the company’s “Credit the Culture” campaign, a celebration of Black Music Month.

Over an orchestral backdrop, Jones uncovers some of love’s complexities. “Love is war / Me against you, I know you’ve got scars / I got ’em too / Too deep, too long / We’re gone, too deep / Miss me with the white flag,” Jones sings on the emotional tune.

Speaking on her new track, Jones says, “I hope my fans see growth in me, they’ve seen me since I was a kid. I hope they see my journey and think to themselves ‘wow, that took Coco a long time, maybe my journey taking a long time is okay too.’”

“Love Is War” is the follow-up to Jones’ comeback single, “Caliber,” which was released in March. Last week, the singer/actress shared the official video that Teyana Taylor directed.

“With the release of ‘Caliber,’ I finally feel like I’m able to articulate the core of who I am. My music is a love letter to my journey, and who I’ve become. With the team behind me, there’s nowhere to go but up,” Jones said.
