Ciara is in her Afrobeats bag. The R&B-pop star has teamed with Afropop artists MOLIY and Oxlade for her new song “Nice n’ Sweet.” The three co-wrote it with Courtlin Jabrae, Christopher Chan and Kwaku Etwi.

Produced by Shyne and Lucky Jones, “Nice n’ Sweet” is a candy-coated come-on that’s equal parts rhythmic and sensual. The sugary track is laden with sexual innuendo that drips through its “sticky sticky” and “nice and sweet” refrains.

“I wanted to make something that feels like sunshine – something that connects us through movement and energy,” explains Ciara. “Working with Moliy and Oxlade brought such a beautiful, authentic spirit to the record. It’s Nice… and Sweet- just like the feeling I hope people get when they hear it.”

“Nice n’ Sweet” arrives nearly three months after Ciara’s eighth album, CiCi, which dropped Aug. 22 via her indie label Beauty Marks Entertainment.

Three days after its release, she dropped CiCi (Deluxe), which featured four bonus tracks, including “Low” with Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz, and her “Ecstasy (Remix)” with Normani and Teyana Taylor. It’s worth noting “Nice n’ Sweet” is also now included on the deluxe.

CiCi is a love letter, a celebration of the journey, and most importantly, a thank you to my fans,” Ciara explained. “This project represents the strength I’ve grown into and the power I’ve learned to wear with pride. My fans have been my fuel, giving me the courage to keep dreaming. This is my way of giving that love back.”

CiCiis the follow-up to 2019’sBeauty Marks, which included the multi-platinum hit “Level Up,” as well as the underrated Afrobeats jam “Freak Me” featuring Nigerian singer Tekno.
