The Tycoon Music Festival 2024 lineup has been announced. The fifth annual event takes place Feb. 13 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
R&B heavyweight Chris Brown is set to headline the festival, along with other R&B all-stars Monica, Ginuwine and Mario.
Additional performers include 112, Ashanti, Bryson Tiller, DJ Mannie Fresh, Fridayy and Jermaine Dupri.
The Tycoon Festival, produced in collaboration with Brown and Live Nation, will be hosted by comedian DC Young Fly.
“We’re excited for Tycoon Music Festival and to present an idyllic lineup of R&B legends who’ve delivered timeless music. From Breezy, to Monica, to Mario, to Fridayy and everyone in between, this year’s Tycoon Music Festival is a showcase of the best in R&B,” says Anthony “Ant” Wilson, who manages Brown.
Brown will support his latest album, 11:11, released Nov. 10, 2023. The 22-track, two-part set includes Brown’s Grammy-nominated hit “Summer Too Hot,” which is up for Best R&B Performance.
11:11 includes features from Future, Davido, Lojay, Fridayy, Maeta and Byron Messia. The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B Albums charts.
In December 2023, Monica joined rap star Nicki Minaj on her affirming anthem “Love Me Enough” with Keyshia Cole. The song appears on the deluxe edition of Minaj’s fifth album, Pink Friday 2.
Monica released her single “Letters” last summer, with a video co-starring The Game.
Monica wrote “Letters” with Tasha Catour, Ciara, Alicia Renee Williams and Brian “Killah B” Bates. The track debuted at No. 11 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
“Letters” is expected to appear on Monica’s oft-delayed album, Trenches. The project will include her other singles, “Friends” with Ty Dolla $ign, and “Trenches” featuring Lil Baby.
While it’s been 13 years since Ginuwine last released a solo album, the legendary R&B singer recently teased a reunion with his group TGT, which includes Tyrese and Tank.
“Just had a great convo with my brothas all I’m gonna say is uhhhhh ohhhhhh stay tuned #tgt #tyrese #tank love these guys it’s on!!!!! @tyrese @therealtank TGT !!!! It’s time,” Ginuwine wrote in an Instagram caption for a throwback photo of the group on stage.
Tyrese commented under the post: “When we LINK!!!!!!!!!!!! 8 shows locked in and counting!!!!! Announcing dates and cities soon!!!!!! What city and country is ready for TGT..???????”
TGT released their first album, Three Kings, in 2013 via Atlantic Records.
As for Mario, in 2023, he announced his deal with Epic Records in partnership with his imprint, New Citizen.
“Right now, Epic comprises some of the greats in the music game like Sylvia Rhone and Ezekiel Lewis. I’ve been independent for eight years, so this is definitely a new chapter for me and New Citizen,” said Mario. “We’re going to be one of the chariots for R&B, and we’re bringing it back.”
The Baltimore, Maryland, native released his single “Main One” with rappers Lil Wayne and Tyga. The song has over six million streams on Spotify.
Mario has yet to announce a new project to follow 2018’s Dancing Shadows.
