Chris Brown Announces New Album ’11:11′

R&B

Chris Brown has revealed details about his upcoming 11th studio album.

The R&B mainstay went to Instagram to share that his next album is titled 11:11 and is tentatively set to release on Nov. 11.

He also shared that the album will contain 11 songs, a direct response to some fans who have critiqued the length of his recent albums, including Heartbreak on a Full MoonIndigo, and BreezyFor instance, the deluxe edition of Heartbreak contains 57 tracks and runs for 3 hours and 15 minutes, which is a few minutes longer than a feature film like Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.

While there are hardcore Breezy fans who prefer more songs, Brown has his intention set for a more abbreviated project.

“I see Some of my die hard fans wanting me to add more songs for the new project and I love y’all for that. But, I just feel I need you all to really miss me and take my art seriously. IM JUST focused on giving y’all the best to digest. 11:11 make a wish,” he wrote in the caption for his Instagram post announcing his new album.

Team Breezy shouldn’t be too shocked by Brown’s decision to cut the number of tracks on his next album.

In May, he shared in a since-deleted Instagram post, “Y’all ready for some new music? Been locked in the studio. Ultra instinct activated. I’ll let y’all know the album title soon. NO MORE 20 to 40 song albums. JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF MAGIC TO DIGEST.”

11:11 will include the lead single “Summer Too Hot.” The official video is set to premiere this Friday, Aug. 18.

Brown’s next album will follow his Grammy-nominated album, Breezy, released in 2022. The standard version was released June 24, while Breezy (Deluxe) arrived July 8.

He reissued the album again in November as Breezy – It’s Giving Christmas, which featured two bonus holiday tracks.

Brown hasn’t been in the studio just cooking up his own music. He has recently collaborated with Ciara on her latest single, “How We Roll.” It debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart, notching Brown his 48th top 10 hit on that list.

He also teamed with Ty Dolla $ign on his “Motion (Remix),” Fridayy’s “Don’t Give It Away,” Chlöe’s “How Does It Feel” and Vedo’s “Do You Mind,” all of which were released this year.
