Chlöe Bailey Announces Sophomore Album ‘Trouble in Paradise’

R&B

Chlöe’s second album is underway. The Grammy-nominated singer has announced the title of her sophomore effort, Trouble in Paradise.

Chlöe confirmed the album’s title during her Coachella set on Sunday (April 20).

“So, I have an album coming out soon. I can’t tell you guys the date just yet, but the title is Trouble in Paradise because I am trouble in paradise,” Chlöe told the crowd before performing her latest single “Boy Bye.”

Trouble in Paradise will arrive this year on Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records. The album will include the singles “FYS” and “Boy Bye.”

Regarding the latter song, Chlöe explained, “‘Boy Bye’ is an anthem for anyone who needs to get rid of someone toxic and draining from their life. It’s liberating and free. That’s how it feels to finally let go of dead weight that’s been keeping you down. Instead of being sad about releasing what’s not good for me, I celebrate it.”

Trouble in Paradise will follow Chlöe’s solo debut album, In Pieces, released in 2023. The album included the singles “Pray It Away” and “How Does It Feel” featuring Chris Brown. The latter track, produced by Hitmaka, debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.

In Pieces debuted at No. 17 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. The album included additional features from Missy Elliott and Future.

IN PIECES is for the ones who behind closed doors are breaking and don’t know how much more they can take,” Chlöe explained in an Instagram post. “IN PIECES is for the ones who hold the people up around them while barely holding up themselves.”

She added, “IN PIECES is for the people who continue to get stabbed in the back, heart broken by the ones they thought they could trust, but STILL that doesn’t change their heart and how they love.”

Trouble in Paradise isn’t the only thing Chlöe has in the works. In a recent interview with Forbes, Chlöe confirmed that Chloe x Halle has new music coming.

“I am super proud of my sister and I’m also really proud of myself. We both have really cool solo projects coming this year and probably top of next year is when our group music will drop, which will be really exciting,” Chlöe told the publication. “I cannot wait for that and I know the fans are itching for it, too!”
