Chase Shakur Craves Attention on New Song ‘Focus On Me’

R&B

Chase Shakur is looking for attention from a love interest on his new song, “Focus On Me.”

Over a mellow backdrop, produced by Isaiah Kaleo, Elkan, and Kavin Smith, sings: “Focus on me / You’re the only girl that I wanna see / I wanna be / Spend some time with you is all I need / Fighting for your love, can’t get enough / Give me all your trust, won’t mess it up.”

Speaking on his new track, Shakur exclusively tells Rated R&B, “I made ‘Focus On Me’ for this girl I was really into. I’m not the best with words, but I wanted to show her I was all about her.”

He adds, “This song wasn’t originally supposed to be on the album, but after I previewed it, the fans loved it, and I had to put it on there. It fits perfectly because it’s about yearning for someone to be about you.”

“Focus On Me” follows “2ofUs” and “Limerence.” All three tracks, as well as the previously shared “Yolanda” and “Options,” will appear on Shakur’s highly awaited debut album, Wonderlove, which will arrive in 2025 via Def Jam.

The latter two tracks were released as part of the Atlanta native’s The Stunt-Man Pack

STUNTMAN PACK has a little something for everyone. I wanted to put two tracks together that felt different, but that a lot of people could relate to,” Shakur explained. “I’ve been working on my album and this is some of my favorite music that I’ve ever made. I’m really excited for fans to hear it.”

Wonderlove will follow Shakur’s 2023 EP, it’s not you, it’s me, which was rereleased with a deluxe edition, it’s not you, it’s me…it’s love.
