Charlotte Day Wilson and Snoh Aalegra Share New Song ‘Forever’

R&B

Charlotte Day Wilson is back. The emerging singer, songwriter and producer has teamed with Snoh Aalegra for her new single “Forever.”

On the enduringly beautiful track, the two both acknowledge that time cannot keep them and their lovers together if they have grown apart.

“Friends say / I’m the girl that’s / All the time in the world wouldn’t be enough / And I’m bein’ patient to the point that / There’s no promise you can make / To keep a hold of us,” Wilson sings in her verse.

Aalegra responds in her verse, singing, “Tell me can I ever believe you? / Tell me? / ‘Cause you change your mind whenever I need you, baby.”

“Forever” is Wilson’s first proper single since releasing her debut album, ALPHA, in 2021. A deluxe edition arrived later that year with two bonus tracks.

ALPHA features contributions from Babyface, Syd, Daniel Caesar, Meshell Ndegeocello, BADBADNOTGOOD, King Princess, and more.

Since then, Wilson has been featured as a producer on Maeta’s most recent project, When I Hear Your Name. She and DJ Dahi co-produced “Sexual Love,” the opening track featuring James Fauntleroy.

In October, Wilson will perform in Toronto as part of Caesar’s Superpowers World Tour Leg 2: U.S. & Canada. Before that gig, Wilson has two solo shows scheduled this month in London; however, one is already sold out.

Wilson’s latest song follows recent Aalegra songs, including “Wait A Little Longer,” “Sweet Tea,” and “Be My Summer.” The former two were released this month, one dealing in romantic hesitation and the other in the delightful taste of love.

Aalegra issued her latest album, Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies, in July 2021. She did songs on the album with Tyler, the Creator and James Fauntleroy.

This past winter, Aalegra collaborated with Malik Baptiste on the song “All You Need to Know.”
