Cameron Whitcomb is back with a bang. His latest single, Hundred Mile High, is out now via Atlantic Records, bringing an electrifying new energy to his raw, storytelling style. Produced by longtime collaborator Jack Riley, the track is fast, fiery, and impossible to ignore.
“Hundred Mile High is a story from my youth, inspired by moments that stuck with me,” Whitcomb shares. “I hope people connect with it in their own way—whether it sparks a memory, hits a feeling, or just lets them escape for a bit.”
The release kicks off an already jam-packed 2025 for Whitcomb, who recently dropped Medusa (Acoustic)—a stripped-down take on his fan-favorite track Medusa. The original version has racked up over 26 million global streams and was featured as one of Billboard’s “5 Must-Hear New Country Songs.”
And it’s not just the music that’s making waves. Whitcomb’s been turning heads across the industry, landing the cover of Apple Music’s Today’s Country and earning spots on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Shazam’s 2025 Artists to Watch lists. Up next? His biggest U.S. headline tour yet.
The Hundred Mile High Tour kicks off March 13 at Amos’ Southend in Charlotte, NC, and runs through early April. Demand has been sky-high, with sold-out dates including New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on March 28—so much so that a second show has been added on March 24. Before heading stateside, Whitcomb will warm up with a February run of headline shows in his native Canada. Then, after wrapping up his U.S. tour, he’ll jet off to Australia to support platinum-selling country star Sam Barber on the Restless Mind Tour, which is already selling out fast. Additional U.S., Canada, and international dates will be announced soon.
The momentum follows a breakout 2024 for Whitcomb, thanks to his debut EP Quitter—a deeply personal project shaped by his journey through addiction recovery. The title track became his first song to hit the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, while Billboard praised it as “an anthemic folk track in the mold of Noah Kahan.” With over 42 million global streams, Quitter cemented Whitcomb as one of country music’s most exciting new voices.
Whitcomb celebrated by hitting the road on his Quitter Tour, packing out venues like Nashville’s The Mil at Cannery Hall and New York’s Mercury Lounge. He also spent time winning over new audiences while supporting Morgan Wade on her Midwestern tour run.
A natural-born storyteller with a voice that cuts deep, Whitcomb’s rise has been anything but ordinary. Hailing from Vancouver Island, BC, he left home at 17 to work on a pipeline, spending his free time singing karaoke and posting covers online. That led to a life-changing moment when an American Idol executive spotted his talent, landing him a spot on Season 20, where he made it to the Top 20. From there, he dedicated himself to songwriting and sobriety, setting the stage for his 2024 label debut with Rocking Chair, which racked up over 40 million views across social media.
Now, with Hundred Mile High kicking off a massive year, Whitcomb is gearing up for more new music—and if his track record is any indication, he’s just getting started.
