Caleb McLaughlin Shares New Single ‘Soul Travel’

R&B

Caleb McLaughlin could not have timed his return to music more perfectly. After taking a woozy stroll through the “Neighborhood” on his debut single, the emerging singer/actor has shared “Soul Travel.” It arrived ahead of the season four premiere of Netflix‘s Stranger Things, in which he stars as Lucas Sinclair.

On “Soul Travel,” produced by Rashad Thomas, the 20-year-old crooner doesn’t fall back on the slower tempo from his last single.

He surprises with a light vocal that sounds like an irrefutable reference to a young Omarion in some parts. The choppy dance beat is well structured around his sound, as he sings about taking endless rendezvouses with a special someone.

McLaughlin releases an accompanying music video for “Soul Travel.” The visual, shot primarily at night, follow him and his beautiful sidekick exploring different scenes. The front-passenger seat gets its share of varied riders, while McLaughlin also enjoys time in the backseat.

Other scenes consist of party zones captured in different lighting. You can watch the video in full above.

“Soul Travel” is McLaughlin’s second single. Both “Neighborhood” and “Soul Travel” will appear on his forthcoming untitled EP, slated to release later this year.

Beyond winning awards for his role in Stranger Things, McLaughlin made more strides in acting last year when he joined acclaimed multi-hyphenate Idris Elba in Netflix’s original film Concrete Cowboy
