This is not a drill. R&B greats Brandy and Monica have joined forces to announce their co-headlining The Boy Is Mine Tour.
Produced by Black Promoters Collective, the joint tour, named after their groundbreaking duet, kicks off Oct. 16 in Cincinnati. From there, they will visit Milwaukee, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Washington, D.C. and more before wrapping up Dec. 6 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The dynamic duo will be joined by special guests Kelly Rowland, Muni Long and 2025 American Idol winner Jamal Roberts.
Presale tickets will be available Thursday, June 26, starting at 10 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. local time via the code BPC. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, June 27, at 10 a.m. local time.
“This really is a full-circle moment,” says Brandy. “Monica and I coming together again isn’t just about the music—it’s about honoring where we came from and how far we’ve both come. ‘The Boy Is Mine’ was a defining chapter in R&B, and to share the stage all these years later is bigger than a reunion—it’s a celebration of growth, sisterhood, and the love our fans have given us from day one.”
Monica adds, “The love that ‘The Boy Is Mine’ continues to receive means everything to me. This tour is a celebration of our history, our impact, and the fans who have grown with us. Brandy and I have been on our own unique journeys, and coming back together in this way is a reminder of the power of respect, strength, and real music. We’re giving the people what they’ve been asking for, and doing it with grace, love, and purpose. God’s timing perfectly aligned us.”
Shelby Joyner, president of Black Promoters Collective, comments, “Bringing Brandy and Monica together for this tour is more than just a moment — it’s a cultural homecoming. Their impact on R&B is immeasurable, and ‘The Boy Is Mine’ continues to be one of the most iconic collaborations of all time. At BPC, we’re committed to celebrating culture and legacy, and this tour is a powerful example of both.”
Brandy and Monica’s upcoming tour has been a longstanding dream among many in the R&B community. The two singers have also been vocal about wanting to do something together in the future.
In a 2024 interview with Extra TV, Brandy said, “I hit [Monica] up so much talking about all the things that we could do together — tour, residency, everything. I really want that. Monica, I really want that.”
As noted above, Brandy and Monica’s tour is named after their 1998 duet, “The Boy Is Mine.” Produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Dallas Austin, the song spent 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song won Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal at the 41st Grammy Awards in 1999. It marked Brandy and Monica’s first and only Grammy win thus far.
“The Boy Is Mine” was the lead single for Brandy and Monica’s second albums, respectively. Brandy’s sophomore LP, Never Say Never, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Monica’s second album, titled after the duet, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
In June 2024, Brandy and Monica teamed with pop star Ariana Grande for her “the boy is mine (remix).”
