BJ the Chicago Kid Looks Back ‘6 Months’ on New Song

R&B

BJ the Chicago Kid is back with an all-new edition of BJ Wednesdays. This time, the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter has released the new song “6 Months.”

On the Social House-produced track, pillowed with a gentle harp and tender backing vocals, BJ and his current lover have just gotten their relationship off the ground.

Not a stranger to the commencing stage of any romance, BJ asks her to be patient as they face early problems, believing that they’ll look back part of the year and smile after they come through it.

BJ relaunched the weekly music series in time for the fall season last week with the recent song “Smooth.” Previous tracks from his summer edition included “Type of Day” featuring Eric Bellinger and his cover of “Fancy” by The-Dream, all of which appeared on his 4 AM EP.

He spoke to Rated R&B about the project and his journey back to the independent status after parting ways with Motown Records. He also chatted about his spring meeting with the legendary Ronald Isley.

Earlier this month, BJ appeared on KIRBY’s new album, Sis. He Wasn’t the One.
