Bee-B Shares New Song ‘Wait’

R&B

Rising R&B singer and songwriter Bee-B has returned with her new single, “Wait,” her first release of 2024.

On the stirring ballad, the Compton native explores the patience that love often requires. Sometimes, we may meet the right person at the wrong time but if the relationship was destined to happen, it will.

“If it’s meant to be / Let it go, let it be / And if don’t come back it wasn’t yours / But if it does, that’s how you know,” Bee-B sings over a delicate piano.

Speaking on “Wait,” Bee-B tells Rated R&B, “This song was so meaningful to me as a woman who hears so many songs and has been in relationships both romantic and platonic that weren’t ‘real.’ I just wanted to express how genuine love is out there and can be achieved if we just let go of expectations. I’m dating now and I’m open to finding someone that I can share my space with.”

Bee-B, who has penned songs for artists like Ledisi, Queen Naija and Rotimi, says the lyrics came to her “pretty much instantly.” She adds, “My producer 88Jay and I sat at the piano in ATL and really composed this in one take. It just flowed, and we knew it was a special record. It’s like my version of John Legend‘s ‘Ordinary People,’ but for women.”

Speaking of “Ordinary People,” Bee-B’s official video for “Wait,” which can be viewed below, is reminiscent of Legend’s black-and-white visual.

“Wait” will appear on Bee-B’s upcoming album, Bloom, due in May. It will mark her first album since 2022’s Ghetto Feng Shui

In 2023, Bee-B dropped three singles: “That Girl,” “Contagious” and “Want It All Back.” She capped the year with a holiday EP, Warmer with You, released in December.
