Auralayer’s New Song “You Walk” is a Psychedelic Doom Trip

Metal

Hailing from Greenville, South Carolina, doomy psychedelic trio Auralayer are primed to become your next favorite band. Armed with big riffs and a love for bands like Sleep, Mastodon and Torche, their debut album, Thousand Petals, is a jammer that will definitely appeal to fans of the aforementioned bands, or just stoner rock and doom in general.

Rather than take our word for it, you can listen to “You Walk” right now. The song starts off with a chugging riff and thunderous drumming, almost like the midway point between Sleep and High on Fire. Thousand Petals was recorded with Kylesa founder Phillip Cope, who helped the band find their sound for their debut album, according to guitarist Thomas Powell.

“Phil has had a huge influence on me as an artist, so it was great having him around. He’s just as passionate about our music as we are, so it almost feels like he’s part of the band. And since he’s worked on so many cool projects, like the first Baroness album, he has so many cool perspectives and great attention to detail, and that really helped us capture the sound we were going for.”

Listen to “You Walk” below. If you’re into it, pre-order the album, due for release July 15 on King Volume Records.
