Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson: No Hard Feelings

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson: No Hard Feelings

Pop

The Ariana GrandePete Davidson relationship might’ve looked like a total failure, but that doesn’t mean they walked away hating each other. Quick reminder: Ariana and Pete’s whirlwind romance lasted from May 2018 until October 2018 —a mere 6 months.

In that brief span of time, they got engaged! Ariana also penned an entire song about their relationship titled “Pete Davidson.” She wore her heart on her sleeve, describing the way she called Pete into her life.

The high-profile relationship was short-lived — yet filled with oodles of PDA — before they called it quits. There’s zero chance they’ll reconcile. But based on a recent comment Pete made about Ariana in the media — there doesn’t appear to be any bad blood between them.

All eyes are on Ariana in 2025, thanks to the premiere of her movie Wicked. She snagged the role of Glinda the Good Witch. Everyone and their mother has been talking about the magic of the film since it hit theaters. That includes Ari’s ex, Pete.

He has a lot of admiration for the “7 Rings” singer, especially now that she’s been nominated for a 2025 Oscar Award. There’s a chance Ariana could take home the win for Best Supporting Actress. This would be a huge deal. Ariana’s already earned a bunch of prestigious awards, including multiple Grammys, MTV Music Awards, and Billboard Music Awards, but all of them have been in recognition of her music. Taking home an Oscar for best supporting actress would mean she’s totally leveling up!

When Page Six asked Pete about Ariana, he gushed about her saying, “When we see each other, which is few and far between because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love. I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold.”

BTW, walking away from romantic relationships without any animosity isn’t a weird thing for Pete. He went on to say, “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women. And when it ended, it’s been cool.”

Other women he’s famously dated include Madelyn Cline from Outer Banks, Emily Ratajkowski, Pheobe Dynevor from Bridgerton, Kaia Gerber, Margaret Qualley, Kate Beckinsale, and Kim Kardashian

Since these ladies are powerful and influential in the entertainment industry, ending relationships on good terms with all these fabulous women has definitely been in Pete’s best interest. It’s heartwarming to know Pete and Ariana are still on decent terms, but what exactly caused their breakup in the first place?

According to People, Pete and Ariana didn’t make it because the relationship moved far too quickly. A source said, “It was way too much too soon. It’s not shocking to anyone.”

Another source spoke with TMZ saying, “[It] simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off.”

These surface-level reasons for their split completely overlook the fact that their breakup came right after the devastating news of Mac Miller’s untimely death. Ariana dated Mac from 2016 until 2018 before she got involved with Pete.

When Mac tragically passed away from a fentanyl overdose in September 2018, Ariana’s relationship with Pete crumbled pretty quickly. According to Business Insider, Pete revealed that he knew Mac’s passing would be the kiss of death to his relationship with Ariana.

The SNL comedian explained, “I pretty much knew it was over after that. That was really horrible. I can’t imagine what that sh** is like. That sh** is just terrible. All I do know is that she really loved the sh** out of him and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything. That was f***ed up.”

As of now, Ariana has moved on with her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater. It may be romantically over for Ari and Pete, but their platonic friendship still stands.
