Alicia Keys was a girl on fire at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The R&B legend lit the Microsoft Theater stage in Los Angeles ablaze when she performed a five-song medley to honor the 20th anniversary of her classic debut album, Songs in A Minor.
Rocking a white fedora and styled in a bleach-dyed pants suit, Keys opened the amazing set with a soundbite of “Piano & I,” as she ran her hands across the fingerboard. She quickly transitioned to a dramatic snippet of “A Woman’s Worth” before she moving into “How Come You Don’t Call Me.” She closed out the stellar performance with “Fallin’,” her multi-Grammy-winning song.
Last week, Keys announced plans to launch ALICIA The World Tour in 2022. The new itinerary and its tickets are available here. The set of global concerts will support her latest album ALICIA, named one of Rated R&B’s best R&B albums of 2020.
Her seventh album features the Khalid-featured number one song “So Done.” It secured Keys’ name in the Billboard history books, making her the only artist to have the most leaders on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. She has 12 to her credit.
A YouTube docu-series on Keys is slated to premiere sometime later this year. Keys has described it as a “sick series,” promising to take viewers “on a real-life journey.”
