R&B newcomer Alexia Jayy is tired of a no-good lover on her new single “Over and Done.”
As the title hints, the Alabama native declares that she is no longer interested in a one-way relationship, and is moving on.
“All I wanted to do was feel wanted / Wanted to feel wanted but you couldn’t even reciprocate that / Taking my time and tryna duplicate our perfection,” Jayy sings.
Speaking on her new track, she shares, “I was in a relationship that was draining me and my go-to is music when I’m in my feelings. I started hearing the words to the hook in my head. I took it to the studio, met up with Jay Lyriq, put the pieces together, and the rest is history.”
“Over and Done” is the follow-up to Jayy’s 202 single “I Need a Man.” In February, she released an updated version of the track featuring rapper Boosie Badazz.
“This record is about manifesting the perfect man. Making kings understand that they are needed and helping couples realize that they have a good one on their side,” Jayy explained in a previous statement.
