Grammy-nominated singer Alex Isley has achieved her first award from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Her 2020 hit “Good & Plenty,” with singer/musician Masego and producer Jack Dine, is now certified gold. The sultry jam has sold over 500,000 equivalent units in the U.S.

Not only is “Good & Plenty” Isley’s first RIAA certification, it’s also Dine’s first award. As for Masego, it tallies his third certification, following “Mystery Lady” with Don Toliver (certified gold) and “Tadow” with FKJ (certified platinum).

On Spotify, “Good & Plenty” has amassed nearly 73 million streams since its July 17, 2020, release. The standalone single dropped several months after Isley and Dean dropped their joint EP, Wilton, in November 2019.

In March 2021, Isley released her “Good & Plenty (Remix)” with Lucky Daye, which has over 64 million streams on Spotify.

Speaking on “Good & Plenty,” Isley told VIBE, “I brought Masego over to Jack, right before the pandemic. And we’re like, ‘Okay, well, let’s vibe and see what happens.” Jack started putting together drums, and Masego had his sax, of course. It took me maybe two minutes to write my verse. It just happened so quickly, and we finished ‘Good & Plenty’ in a matter of two to three hours.”

Isley also revealed that it was Dine’s idea to get Daye on the remix. “That was a no-brainer when he brought him up. The way he flipped it with his verse, coming in, he gave it a whole new life,” she told the publication.

WHEN is an exploration of love, identity, intimacy, and emotional growth,” Isley told Rated R&B. “It’s a collection of some of my deepest thoughts, dreams, and memories, and the beginning of me leaning more into my sensuality.”

In other music news, Isley is featured on Jon B.’s comeback album, Waiting on You. She appears on the silky duet “Show Me,” which Jon B. produced.

“Her voice is so complimentary to the song that it just made me smile,” Jon B. told Rated R&B. “I love how subtle Alex Isley is. It’s so beautiful. It’s grown-up R&B, something you can cruise to in your car or [play] at home and just chill out.”
