Beyoncé launched her world tour on May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden. She played in various European cities, before launching the North American leg on July 8 in Toronto, Ontario. As noted above, the tour concluded Oct. 1 in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to press materials, Beyoncé’s world tour attracted more than 2.7 million fans.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour was in support of her seventh album, Renaissance, released July 28, 2022.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” shared Beyoncé. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”

Renaissance debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 332,000 equivalent units. The blockbuster album included the lead single, “Break My Soul,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also won Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 65th Grammy Awards earlier this year.

At the same ceremony, Beyoncé made history as the first Black woman to win Best Dance/Electronic Music Album (Renaissance).

Renaissance is the first installment of a mysterious three-act project by Beyoncé. “This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic,” Beyoncé shared in a note to her fans via her website. “A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.” There are no additional details about the remaining two acts at this time.
