Fetty P Franklin said he and DaBaby planned a sequel to “Kirk Franklin,” their seven-track joint EP released last year.

Fetty P Franklin said he and DaBaby are planning Kirk Franklin 2, extending a partnership that grew from a guest verse into a joint EP and live shows.

“Yeah, we planning on doing Kirk Franklin 2 for sure,” Franklin said during a HOT 97 interview.

The news came as he looked back on how the two Charlotte rappers started working together. He said they first met while filming “SDA,” their collaboration on his 2025 album FRANK, and agreed they needed to get back in the studio.

Franklin said DaBaby delivered his verse just days before the album’s release. They then put together their first joint project in two sessions, with both rappers trading verses through the night.

Kirk Franklin arrived December 26, 2025, with seven tracks. Its title combined DaBaby’s surname, Kirk, with Franklin’s stage name. That shared billing led to a full project after the initial feature, with songs including “Close Friends” and “Money Blue.”

For Franklin, that connection helped turn years of paid studio time into a career.

In a June interview, he explained that he became a full-time rapper in 2025 at 35. Before that, he had released music independently since 2018, paying for recording sessions, videos and travel with little coming back.

His FRANK album marked a change. “Jimmy N Johnny” drew a much larger audience, and DaBaby took notice. Franklin described the support as another way to keep climbing when the path he had built on his own looked uncertain.

“He put another ladder right there, and another one,” Franklin told the Charlotte Observer. The help followed years of questioning whether he could keep spending money on music.

The link also extended to the stage.

DaBaby included Franklin on his Be More Grateful Fest lineup alongside 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and other established acts, giving the rising rapper a place in the larger hometown event.

In the new interview, Franklin credited touring with DaBaby with teaching him how to work a crowd beyond Charlotte. On his first tour, he said he had to adjust to DaBaby’s fans and learn how to hold their attention. He gave no release date for the planned sequel.
