Legendarygroove metal bandSoulflyhave a new album coming out later this year and a huge tour with GWAR scheduled, so naturally they’d be hyping up the new shit. Hence why they released an animated video for the Chama single “Favela/Dystopia”.
Featuring Zyon Cavalera on the drums, the song continues Soulfly’s tribal-inspired sound with a modern flair. As for the video, they hired Matt Creeptoon to put the animation together, offering what the band calls a “stark, unflinching portrayal of life within the Brazilian favelas.” Max Cavalera describes the video as such:
“Nightmare Before Christmas meets City of God! This video showcases the struggles of Brazilians living in the favellas, with the thrash metal side of Soulfly’s Chama. Amazing animation by Matt Creeptoon!”
