I’m a 2000s-era reality competition… get me back on TV! Peacock is preparing another edition of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, a global format that is a hit overseas but hasn’t yet caught on in the United States.
And the new Peacock take, which has the working title Get Me Out of Here, has two familiar faces as hosts: Love Island UK star Maura Higgins and Love Island USA star Rob Rausch, who competed against one another in The Traitors Season 4.
In a press release, Peacock says Get Me Out Of Here, slated for a 2027 release, is “an updated and amped-up take” on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, in which each celebrity contestant is paired with a non-famous friend or family member. Then those pairs are thrown into a rugged jungle in what Peacock calls “the ultimate test of friendship.”
“Stripped of every luxury — and the perks, privileges, and creature comforts of celebrity — duos face a series of physical and psychological challenges, earning rewards to avoid elimination,” the streamer adds. “But here, the celebrities don’t call the shots — instead, they must partner up, taking the lead or deferring to their bestie, all while the treacherous environment takes its toll. Relying on each other like never before, teams must navigate everything the jungle throws their way as their grit, stamina, and resilience are pushed to the limit.”
The last team standing after a gauntlet of challenges — as in, the celeb that can “adapt to life without the VIP treatment” and the layperson BFF who can “handle being stuck in the jungle with a star” — will claim a $100,000 grand prize.

The original I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has been airing on the United Kingdom’s ITV since 2002. ABC aired an American version in 2003, with dancer and choreographer Cris Judd winning, and NBC aired another in 2009, with Lou Diamond Phillips coming out on top.
