A disturbing livestream involving Perez Hilton sparked a major police response in Miami, but officials say deputies have chosen a de-escalation strategy as the situation continues to unfold.
Perez Hilton is in the midst of a frightening and deeply concerning situation! On Tuesday, after a livestream, he was reported to the authorities over an apparent suicide attempt. We do not know what is up, but it prompted emergency calls. Law enforcement is reportedly at his Miami home at the time of this writing. What began as a shocking TikTok Live has quickly turned into a developing story filled with unanswered questions.
This is a glimpse of what is happening. Actually – NEVERMIND. But, this will give you some idea of what I saw.

Early scanner chatter circulating online suggested SWAT units surrounded the property and that negotiators were attempting to communicate with Hilton. Some unofficial scanner reports even labeled the incident a hostage situation, although authorities have not confirmed that characterization. Hilton has children. It has not been verified that they were inside the home.
What has been confirmed comes from the Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office, which told Newsweek deputies received multiple calls regarding an individual livestreaming alleged acts of self harm. Deputies responded to the home, spoke with family members who were outside and confirmed Hilton was alone inside the residence.
Rather than force an immediate confrontation, deputies chose what they described as a tactical disengagement while continuing to monitor the situation.
The Sheriff’s Office explained its approach, saying, “In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication. Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public.”
That statement seems to conflict with some of the more dramatic claims circulating on social media. I know this is in the rumors section, but this is not for play. It is important it is to separate verified information from rumors during an active incident like this.
