With their new album Projections coming out on May 29, British doom metal outfitGodthrymmshared a new single, titled “The Sun Never Fell”.
The new album is being positioned as the finale to the band’s Visions trilogy, which started back with the release of 2020’s Reflections and was followed up by 2023’s Distortions. Of course, the band’s penchant for doom metal stems from the fact that frontman Hamish Glencross and Shaun Taylor-Steels are former My Dying Bride members.
Speaking of Glencross, he said the new track serves as a reminder of the band’s ability to write huge, plodding doom metal.
“We present ‘The Sun Never Fell’ as our second single from Projections, as it showcases the more grandiose epic sound of the band full of vocal harmonies, layer upon layer of instrumentation and massive riffs. The song strives to shine light through crushing darkness, with hope leading out of despair.”
Projectionswill be released on May 29 via Profound Lore Records, but you canpreorder your copy today.
