Coco Jones doesn’t need a visit from Santa Claus this year. The Grammy winner’s new holiday song “Skip My House” puts gratitude over materialism.
On the Johnny Thomas Jr. production, Jones is so fulfilled with what life has brought her that she doesn’t feel the need to ask for more. “I already counted, and my blessings came in pouring / Hoping I can freeze the time now while it’s snowing / So you can skip my house this year / I already got everything I need right here,” she sings.
Speaking on her new release, the newly-engaged singer wrote on Instagram, “I used to chase what I thought would make me happy until I found a priceless gift: Peace, purpose, and surrounding myself with people who see me. Santa can ‘Skip My House’ this year. OUT NOW! (But if he wanna leave me a Grammy that’s fine).”
“Skip My House” is Jones’ first music release since dropping her debut album,Why Not More?, in April. She followed up with an extended version of the project before sharing the official deluxe edition,Why Not More? (MORE!), in August.
Why Not More?is nominated for Best R&B Album at the 68th Grammy Awards, which takes place Feb. 1, 2026. It is up against Givēon‘s BELOVED, Ledisi‘s The Crown, Teyana Taylor‘s Escape Room and Leon Thomas‘ MUTT.
In November 2024, Jones released her first holiday EP,Coco By The Fireplace, featuringall original songs.
