The drummer known as Quinn made the remarks in January 2024, saying the album would have served as the follow-up to what would be their final album, 2013’s ‘Random Access Memories’.
“I keep checking in,” Quinn said. “I’m told they’re working on it. It’s coming out of the locker. I asked Daft Punk permission to talk about it for another article, ’cause they’re very secretive as you know. And the greatest guys.”
Elsewhere, Daft Punk were one of the many famous names spotted in Pharrell’s LEGO biopic, Piece by Piece. The trio famously worked on ‘Get Lucky’ together, which became a global smash hit with over a billion streams on Spotify. During an interview withNMEin June, Williams explained how the movie was an “amazing experience of history for me”.
He went on: “I can’t tell you how humbled I am to have this masterful storyteller really make sense of my life. It has always been all over the place and made sense to me but not to most. He was able to do it in colour, vividly – brick by brick, piece by piece.”
