Russ trades bars with Big Sean on their new collaboration, “Shut Me Up”.
Spearheaded by an unexpected sample from Netflix’s British Black Comedy drama series,Baby Reindeer, the lyrical duo bring a plethora of energetic vibes and witty rhymes.
“I be in my head, chasing my own tail / Gotta step into the light, bitch, my face is getting pale,” Russ begins. He continues, “All this bread up on my plate, but my soul is getting stale / Got to find a new haven, probably could’ve gone to Yale.”
Meanwhile, Sean follows suit. “Circling the drain while people see me running victory laps / College rapper but I still end up in history class / ‘Cause I’m a legend, we all dabble, we don’t live life/ Wallet looking pregnant, my accountant need a midwife.”
Co-produced by Russ himself along with Helluva, “Shut Me Up” joins “Recognize” as the two additional tracks added to the deluxe version of his recent album, W!ld. The deluxe, W!ld Deluxe: The Elephant & The Rider is available now.
