WithGlastonbury 2025now done and dusted, many music fans may be looking ahead to next year to return to Worthy Farm. However, the festival will be taking its traditional fallow year.

This year’s festival opened on Friday with ahit-filled headline set on the Pyramid Stage from The 1975 that was short on controversy, followed by Saturday’s “no frills” performance from legendary rocker Neil Young.

Olivia Rodrigo then closed out the iconic stage on Sunday, running the gamut on her greatest hits, and bringing out Glasto legend Robert Smith of the Cure for ‘Friday I’m In Love’ and ‘Just Like Heaven’.

So, now, all eyes are turned to the next edition which, with organiser Emily Eavis already confirming that the festival would once again take a fallow year in 2026, is set to take place in 2027.

Bookmakers are already taking bets on the next headliners, with Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift among the names they think are most likely to tackle the Pyramid Stage next.

Elsewhere on the list of likely acts, provided by William Hill, are Beyoncé – who’s currently midway through her ‘Cowboy Carter’ tourRihanna, Miley Cyrus, Eminem, Chappell Roan, Little Simz and Fred Again.

Among the least likely are Bruce Springsteen, this year’s Other Stage headliner Charli XCX, Harry Styles and Adele.

Oasis, who are set to return to the stage on Friday (July 4), are also 4/1 to headline, though it seems unlikely with Liam Gallagher recently saying he “hates” the Pyramid Stage as “it’s like playing to a load of jamboree teachers”.

As well as providing some respite for the nature of Worthy Farm, a fallow year allows a break for the community in Pilton, where the festival is held. Speaking about fallow yearsinThe Glastonbury Free Press this year, Michael Eavis said: “I invented those in the ’80s, because it was very stressful with the licence, the police, the village, the press and the council.

“I thought, ‘We’ll give them all a break so they’ve got nothing to complain about for a bit!’ And of course, the farm gets a rest. It was a really good idea. I think we’ll be ready for a break next year!”

Other highlights from Glastonbury 2025 include Loyle Carner’s Other Stage-closing magnificent back-to-basics set. Elsewhere, Lorde kicked things off with her secret set at Woodsies, where she performed her new album ‘Virgin’ in full and then some, and a returningLewis Capaldi staged histriumphant return at a surprise set over at the Pyramid.

Their performance was preceded by a similarly controversial set fromBob Vylan, who used their time to speak up for Palestine andled chants of “death, death to the IDF”, which has drawn much criticism online. Glastonbury hasdistanced itself from Bob Vylan’s message, saying it “crossed the line”. Both Kneecap’s and Bob Vylan’s sets arenow under criminal investigation by the police.
