New Jersey natives and metalcore pioneers Deadguy are back with a pissed off new single that’s sure to get even the crustiest of oldheads into the pit, titled “New Best Friend.” Featured on their forthcoming album Near-Death Travel Services, out on June 27 via Relapse Records, it’s a fast and furious four minutes that nearly made me want to spin kick God.
This new track came out just a couple weeks after the release of the new album’s debut single “Kill Fee,” which was an equally enraged little ditty that got plenty of people hyped for the band’s return. I don’t know if anyone will get the reference or necessarily agree with my assessment on the track, but this one feels very much like a Tomahawk song, from the bass tone to the attack on the drums, the angular sound of the guitar, and at times even the vocal delivery.
Near-Death Travel Services will be released on June 27 via Relapse Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
