Love has Nija swept off her feet in her new single “Heaven.”
Produced by Jack Rochon, “Heaven” is steeped in slow-burning intimacy as she sings, “Ooh, give me a glimpse of heaven baby / Let me breathe you in.”
Nija tells Rated R&B, “‘Heaven’ is about that feeling when love hits you so deep it feels like a high. It’s dreamy, it’s intense, and a little dangerous—but you don’t want to come down. I wanted the song to feel like floating in the middle of a moment you never want to end.”

“Heaven” is the follow-up to Nija’s “32nd Floor,” which was released in March. “I’m a really private person, and I wanted ’32nd Floor’ to reflect that,” Nija told Rated R&B. “The hotel room floor was the perfect analogy for keeping things just between us. I was intentional about every detail of the song because I wanted it to have the right balance, and the vibe clicked as soon as I heard the beat.”
Last fall, Nija released “Unruly,” her first single in two years. “I wrote ‘Unruly’ because I felt like the girlies needed another anthem to celebrate themselves,” Nija explained to Rated R&B. “It’s about knowing who you are, knowing your worth and knowing the power you possess while looking good doing it.”
