Metallica Post Exclusive Demos and Live Tracks from Upcoming ‘Load’ Release

Metal

In about a month’s time, fans of Metallica‘s wrongly-maligned album Load will be able to get their hands on what could be the absolute definitive version of the 1996 album. With the band’s already legendary pre-Black Album releases already getting the reissued and remastered, it was only a matter of time before Load got that same treatment.

In a bid to keep the hype from dying down, Metallica posted some of the special goodies found only in this newly remastered and reissued version of Load. Two demos that ended up turning into “Hero Of The Day” and “Until It Sleeps” were uploaded to YouTube, along with an audio only live track of Metallica playing “Until It Sleeps” back in 1996 and a live video of them playing “2 x 4” in London back in 1995.

Set for release on June 13 via Blackened Recordings, this newcon was remastered by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering. It will be available in a wide range of formats, including standard 180g 2LP, CD, cassette and digital (including a Spatial Audio mix using Atmos). For the first time ever, this reissue will also feature the extended cut of “The Outlaw Torn”, which was cut down to fit onto the CD.ssssss

But it’s the Deluxe Box Set that’ll have all the extra goodies like the stuff Metallica posted online. We’re talking things like the following:

  • Load (Remastered)on 180-gram double LP and CD
  • “Mama Said” picture disc
  • Three live LPs
  • 15 CDs
  • Four DVDs featuring unreleased content (live shows, rough mixes, demos, etc)
  • MP3 download card of all audio
  • Two tour laminates
  • 11″ x 17″ Lollapalooza poster
  • Pushead patch
  • 8″ x 10″ Rolling Stone Magazine cover print
  • Five-pack of guitar/bass picks
  • Pack of 14 Rorschach Test cards
