Louisiana- and Texas-based black metal shoegaze band vide just dropped their new EP, Decorated in spiderweb, on May 2. Check out their track-by track rundown of the record below.

Walk Like A Ghost

This song is about feeling dead inside and the idea of walking around like a ghost. I’m here but I’m not here. This track was made after listening to a lot of early Swans.

Tomorrow Will Be Worse.

The title says it all. The story of my life and I’m sure many others. This track was mostly inspired by Darkthrone and Big Black. I was listening to these heavily around the time of recording. I was aiming for something primitive with a slightly industrial vibe.

The Waltz That Carried Me To My Grave

This is about feeling like a drain on society, all while inching closer to your grave. This track was heavily influenced by Nine Inch Nails and their Broken EP. The track title comes from an early 1900s song, believed to be the first Cajun song that was ever released.

Decorated in Spiderweb

“Decorated in spiderweb” evokes feelings about being stuck, trapped and tangled in the web of life, the push and pull just to invite the spider closer. Sonically, the track was heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine.
