Aqyila Shares Debut Album ‘Falling Into Place’: Listen

R&B

R&B newcomer Aqyila has unveiled her debut album, Falling Into Place, via Columbia Records.

Released March 28, the 11-track offering was preceded by the viral track “Bloom,” “Unbothered,” “Most Wanted,” “Limbo,” “Focus” and “Wolf.”

Regarding the latter single, Aqyila explained, “My earlier releases from this album were all about feeling confident, knowing who I am, and staying grounded. This track is a little bolder, a bit playful, but also fearless. 2025? Let’s talk boundaries.”

Speaking on Falling Into Place, the Canadian singer noted, “There’s no such thing as overnight success. This debut album is the culmination of years of hard work, growth, and learning. All the pieces finally feel like they’re coming together.”

Aqyila further explained to Billboard, “Most of the songs [on this album] are [the demo takes]; I didn’t even bother trying to recut them because sometimes when you capture that natural essence in the studio and you try to match that energy later, it just didn’t sound the same.”

Falling Into Place is the follow-up to Aqyila’s 2023 EP, For the Better, which included popular tracks such as “Vibe for Me (Bob for Me)” and “Hello.”

The latter song, produced by Evan Miles, won Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2024 Juno Awards.

At the 2025 Juno Awards, held March 30, Aqyila took home a trophy for Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for her fan-favorite track “Bloom.”
