Melanie Fiona Announces ‘Say Yes Tour’ Dates

R&B

Another R&B tour will be making waves this year. Grammy-winning singer Melanie Fiona has unveiled the dates for her headlining Say Yes Tour.

The 15-date North American tour begins April 27 in Philadelphia at the Theatre of Living Arts. From there, Fiona will visit Washington, D.C., Atlanta, New York, Toronto, Houston and more. The spring tour concludes June 1 at El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.

Tickets for Fiona’s Say Yes Tour go on sale Friday (Feb. 28) at 10 a.m. EST.

Before Fiona heads on tour, she will release her long-awaited EP Say Yes on April 4. The mini project will include the previous singles “Say Yes,” “I Choose You” and “Mona Lisa Smile.”

Regarding “Mona Lisa Smile,” Fiona explained, “This song is an homage to all the brave, broken, beautiful works of art—the women, the wives, the mothers—truly, anyone holding it together despite wanting to fall apart. The ‘Mona Lisa Smile’ is the armor we all wear to protect our pain.”

Fiona made her musical return in October 2024 with the project’s title track, which she co-wrote with SiR, and its B-side (“I Choose You”). “‘Say Yes’ was always this song I wanted to lead with after not putting out music for so long because I think that it’s art; it’s bigger than music,” Fiona told Rated R&B.

“I’m proud of this song because I think it’s one of one in how the landscape of music is. I wanted to give something that would reflect what I pride myself on, which is the musicality of not being afraid of live music, live singing, and a jam session.”

The EP Say Yes will mark Fiona’s first project since she released her Grammy-nominated sophomore album, The MF Life, in 2012. “It’s a fun project. I don’t think it would feel heavy to people, no matter what the context is. Everything was created with a lot of joy,” Fiona explained to Rated R&B.

She added, “I think people are going to hear, I want to say, like a playful side of me. There’s a little bit of rap on there. There’s vibration and sonics that I don’t think people have heard from me, collaborating with people I have dreamed of working with for my whole career. These are things that I’m very excited about and, again, not overthinking it.”

In January, Fiona was spotted in the studio with Eric Benét. The two were potentially working on material that will appear on Benét’s album version of his Duets EP, released in 2024. “Man Listen … wait til y’all hear how @melaniefiona was KILLIN’ in that booth last night!! Thank you for blessing us,” Benét wrote on Instagram.
