Video Premiere: Pathogenic – “Crowned in Corpses”

Metal

Progressive death metallers Pathogenic prepare to release their relentless new album, Crowned in Corpses, on February 7 via Skepsis Records. And we have the video for the title track for you today.

The album was produced by Raymond Marte (Moon Tooth), Anthony Lopardo (Loss Becomes), and the band. Raymond Marte mixed and mastered the record. Crowned in Corpses music video was shot by Nick Court of Killing It Entertainment.

“Lyrically, ‘Crowned in Corpses’ forces an acknowledgment of the bloodlust and brutality that drive wars of conquest,”vocalist Jack Burns says about the song. “The opening command to ‘spill the blood of your enemies’ is presented without justification, setting the tone for a song that makes no attempt to explain or rationalize the violence it depicts. This deliberate absence underscores the role of media and political narratives in making such conflicts more palatable. Wars of conquest spread unimaginable misery, and no matter the pretext, the conqueror wears a crown paid for with the blood and suffering of others.”

In support of the album’s release, the band will be touring with Leylines (members of Through the Eyes of the Dead and ex-The Contortionist) in March. Check out the dates below:
