Cradle Of Filth members Marek “Ashok” Šmerda and Zoë M. Federoff have tied the knot.

The couple, who announced their engagement a year ago, married in Tucson, Arizona on Friday (January 10) with frontman Dani Filth sharing photos on his Instagram.

He wrote: “We had an absolutely wonderful day yesterday celebrating the marriage of Ashok and Zoe in Tucson, Arizona amidst a plethora of family and friends.

“Congratulations to the married couple…. Mr and Mrs Smerda! What a great day! The reception and subsequent party thereafter were fantastic and therefore today requires a bit of comfort food and a whopping big band aid.”

The couple also shared photos on their own Instagram accounts too, with Šmerda adding: “So the new chapter of our life just begun.”

Federoff joined the line-up for the symphonic black metal act back in 2022, following the departure of Anabelle Iratni. Šmerda has been part of the band since 2014.

Federoff previously took to social media to explain that she did not know Šmerda before becoming a member of Cradle Of Filth.

“First of all, thank you all so much for your warm wishes and congratulations,” Federoff  wrote at the time. “Secondly, I truly wish I didn’t feel the need to completely clear this up but there’s a lot of strange rumours and stories floating around so, take note: I never knew Ashok before I joined CoF. He had nothing to do with me coming on board. I have already written some material for the next CoF album so clearly our engagement has nothing to do with my continued stay in this band.”

Their marriage comes after Dani Filth recently announced the title and release date of the band’s new album and confirmed that their Ed Sheeran collab will not be on it.

The frontman of the extreme metal band also shared that the group’s new album ‘The Screaming Of The Valkyries’ is set to be released sometime in April.

Filth went on to explain why the Sheeran collab will not be on the album and said: “No, because we don’t want it to overshadow the record. But we are going to bring it out. Originally, everybody wanted us to bring it out to glorious fanfare but Ed’s management weren’t keen on that.

“We’re not absolutely sure how it will emerge, but it’s been done, mixed and it’s sitting on the shelf somewhere… you know, virtually. And it’s fucking fantastic. But only a handful of people have actually heard it. My mum hasn’t even heard it.”

Meanwhile, Cradle Of Filth are set to return to the UK this summer for a slot at Download Festival 2025. Visit here for any remaining tickets.
