Jack Freeman Taps RL and Q Parker for ‘Feels Like Christmas (Remix)’

R&B

R&B newcomer Jack Freeman has enlisted R&B vets RL (of Next) and Q Parker (formerly of 112) for his “Feels Like Christmas (Remix),” produced by Bryan-Michael Cox

“When legends are gracious enough to lend their pen and voices to my music, I’m always highly appreciative. I believe R&B music thrives when artists collaborate and create quality R&B music,” Freeman exclusively tells Rated R&B.

The Houstonian’s latest release is part of his remix pack for his holiday EP, The GiftDubbed The Gift (Remixes), the three-track offering includes amapiano remixes of “Feels Like Christmas” and the title track, helmed by Spanker.

The standard version of The Gift, produced by Cox, was released Nov. 22 via Venice Music.

“I’ve always dreamed of creating a holiday project that feels authentic, joyful, and timeless,” said Freeman. “Bryan and I focused on centering Black music, particularly R&B, honoring the legacy of the greats while leaving my own unique mark.”

Cox also noted, “The Gift is a tribute to the spirit of Christmas, inspired by themes of giving, joy, and peace. Through these songs, we sought to enjoy the essence of the holiday season and its messages of hope and unity.”

The Gift is the follow-up to Freeman’s third album, Nina, released in February. The LP included the lead single, “U N D R E S S,” which was later rereleased with a remix featuring Jagged Edge.

Nina is an idea. She’s a symbol of your greatest loves, your biggest heartbreak, and everything in between,” said Freeman. “You’re gonna walk away refreshed that we did our part to contribute such well-done work to this thing we call RnB.”

In RL-related news, in September, the singer-songwriter joined fellow R&B crooners Case and Raheem DeVaughn on a steamy track, “Naked,” from Case’s upcoming album, Love Jones, Vol. 2.

Last year, he teamed up with Grammy-nominated singer Kenyon Dixon on the nostalgic “2000s R&B” from Dixon’s album, The R&B You Love

As for Q Parker, the R&B legend released “Beg,” his first solo single in over a decade, in late August. The Blac Elvis-produced song landed him his first top 10 hit as a soloist on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. At the time of this writing, “Beg” is No. 6 on the chart led by Coco Jones‘ “Here We Go (Uh Oh).”
