Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have announced their engagement – see more below.

Gomez broke the news on social media on Thursday (December 12), showing off her shiny new diamond ring on Instagram. She wrote in the caption “forever begins now…”. While hit producer Blanco has yet to make his own post, he commented on Selena Gomez’s post “hey wait… that’s my wife”.

See the post below.

Among the other commenters on the post were major names like Taylor Swift and Cardi B. Swift wrote “Yes, I will be your flower girl”, while Cardi B wrote “Waiiiittt hold onnn”. The likes of Suki Waterhouse, Jennifer Aniston, Nina Dobrev, Julia Michaels, Shay Mitchell and more also joined in to congratulate the newly engaged couple.

Swift and Blanco worked together on several of her hit songs dating back to 2015’s ‘Same Old Love’. The pair confirmed their romantic relationship in December 2023 after rumours surrounding their dating life began spreading last year. In December last year, Gomez confirmed that she had been seeing the producer for about six months.

In other news, Gomez has been recently reiterating while promoting her latest film Emilia Perez that she would like to focus on her acting career rather than a return to music at the current time.

Most recently, she revealed to fellow actor Saoirse Ronan that while she thinks she’s “a little too old for the pop star life” now, she’ll “always have music in my life because my partner’s a musician, and I love having moments to do it for fun.”

She continued: “I definitely think my strong suit is probably acting. But one thing I’m proud of in music is being able to tell a story — my favorite songs are mostly ballads, and they’re very transparent and honest. But I think I might be a little too old for the pop-star life. I’m genuinely so happy to just be in this new era of my life, because in a lot of ways, it’s just the beginning.”

She previously said that her music career “isn’t going away”, but that she’d like to focus on acting as she gets to hold on to her “sanity” as acting would allow her to tell other people’s stories rather than her own through music.
