The aesthetic and song are reminiscent of King Diamond and old school horror classics like Goblin and Fabio Frizzi. “Dark Italian stories stained with mud and blood, dripping with superstition and slippery horrors,” Selvans says of the record. The cover artwork was created by Sheila Franco.
“My curse will chase you! Or ‘his’ curse would be more appropriate … Three years ago, during a wild weekend with my friend and author Luigi Musolino, we receive the visit of Corvo Morto, He who speaks the language of mold and insects,” says Selvans. “We introduced him in the novel ‘Corvo Morto Will Come’ and in the eponymous song of the ‘Dark Italian Art’ EP (2021, Avantgarde Music). ‘Il Mio Maleficio V’incalzerà!’ is his origin story and the opening track of Saturnalia.”
