Luke Bryan Slams ‘Ridiculous’ Headlines About Beyonce Comments

Luke Bryan wants to make it clear that he’s got no beef with Beyoncé.

The country superstar hopped on social media on Sunday night (Oct. 6), the same night he wrapped up his 2024 Mind of a Country Boy Tour with a performance in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bryan marked the end of his tour by saying he’s “thankful” for such an “amazing” run.

But he also had a less celebratory point to address: Some recent headlines about his comments regarding Beyoncé’s exclusion from the CMA Awards nominees list.

He stood by his original comments, which he gave during an interview with SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. But Bryan said that the headlines surrounding what he said were “ridiculous,” and gave readers a false impression of how he feels about the pop superstar and her venture into the country genre.

“I feel in my heart I could not let media create a false narrative,” Bryan states. “As I read thru the comments of some of you, I just want to say that I encourage all of you to listen to the interview instead of reading click bait headlines.”

“You will hear my tone and intentions which were not negative,” the singer continues. “I respect Beyoncé and I love how loyal her fans are. I spend a lot of time supporting other artists. I want everyone to win. Love y’all.”

In the interview, Bryan stressed that he believed that the country music industry had a positive reaction to Beyoncé’s country album, Cowboy Carter, which came out in March. However, he also implied that she might have netted some CMAs nominations if she had spent more time connecting with the country music world in person.

“If you’re gonna make country albums, come into our world and be country with us a little bit,” Bryan opined. “… Like, Beyoncé can do it exactly what she wants to do. She’s probably the biggest star in music. But come to an awards show and high five us. And have fun and get in the family, too.”

Bryan is set to co-host this year’s CMA Awards show with Peyton Manning and Lainey Wilson. It’ll be his fourth year as host.

The 2024 CMA Awards will take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 20. The show will air live on ABC and stream next-day on Hulu.
