Blast Worship: Exorbitant Prices Must Diminish

Metal

Where they from?
Switzerland. Every time this part of the year rolls around I find myself asking a simple yet profound question that I’m sure millions of people ask themselves every year: Who exactly is the Little League World Series for? Have you ever met anyone who was like “Bro, let’s get a couple of six packs this weekend and watch some 12-year-olds play baseball”? I would not be friends with that person and neither should you.

Why the hype?
Exorbitant Prices Must Diminish, what a band. Despite being named after a Disrupt song, this band leans more towards razor-sharp euro-style grind but with plenty layers of punk snottiness in the riffage that would make them right at home with bands like Afternoon Gentleman and pretty much any powerviolence band to come out of Leeds. Maintaining a brutal feel while also exploring one’s wacky side is often a tough task for a lot of grind bands, but these guys do it really well. Also, it really doesn’t hurt having one of the tightest drummers I’ve heard in a minute.

Latest Release?
For a Limited Time out now on Lixiviat. So on the band’s bandcamp for the album one of the song titles is “Toppers AKA The Social Use of Tupperwarein an Indigenous Village: Prospects and Observations on the Impact of Modern Goods on the Local Economy and Social Structures in the Tantoyuca Region.” The lyrics for the song are explicitly anti-tupper ware and I just want to say that in this topsy-turvy world, it’s so good to see bands taking stances on the REAL issues. Fuck tupper-ware, I eat my soup with my bare hands.
