James McCartney and Sean Ono Lennon â the sons of Paul McCartney and John Lennon â have written a song together called ‘Primrose Hill’ â check it out below.
The song is a tender acoustic number about being spending time with a loved one at the popular London beauty spot, which appears on the single’s cover art.
“I’ll always remember Primrose Hill,” James McCartney sings wistfully on the chorus, backed by a mellow guitar melody.
“‘Primrose Hill’ is here!” shared James McCartney on social media alongside a picture with his co-writer. “Today I am so very excited to share my latest song co-written by my good friend @seanonolennon. With the release of this song it feels like we’re really getting the ball rolling and I am so excited to continue to share music with you.”

Back in February, James announced his return to music in the form of the new single âBeautifulâ â his first new song since 2016.
James grew up contributing to recording sessions for his fatherâs albums âFlaming Pieâ in 1997 and âDriving Rainâ in 2001, as well as his mother Linda McCartneyâs 1998 release âWide Prairieâ.
He started to release his own solo material in 2010 with a series of EPs, before he released his debut studio album âMeâ in 2013. This was followed up by 2016âs âThe Blackberry Trainâ, before he went on a hiatus from music.

James has also become something of an unlikely internet sensation over the years due to a number of viral clips that have followed his career, including his dad’s message of encouragement (âHey Jamesy, rock it man, I know you will!”) before a performance on ITVâs Lorraine.
He also appeared in an NMEÂ 66 Second Interview in 2012, answering the majority of the music-related questions by referencing his dad’s band.
Back in November, rumours began to swirl about the possibility of a band being formed out of the original Beatlesâ children. But Ringo Starrâs son Zak Starkey shut down the rumours about a supergroup with Sean Lennon and Dhani Harrison.
In other Beatles news, meanwhile, the band shared their âfinalâ track, âNow And Thenâ, back in November â which stemmed back to a demo recorded by Lennon, and was completed with the help of AI.
