New York City’s Funeral Leech is back, and they’re not here to hold your hand through the abyss. Four years since their acclaimed Death Meditation, they’re unleashing The Illusion Of Time on April 5th via Carbonized Records.

A manifesto of despair, a symphony of grief, and a relentless reminder that time is the ultimate reaper, the band’s sophomore release delves deeper into the void, crafting a sonic landscape that’s both haunting and hypnotic.

Drawing from influences such as Mournful Congregation and Candlemass, The Illusion Of Time weaves melancholic synths and sorrowful passages into their necromantic sound, creating an immersive experience that’s as captivating as crushing.

The Illusion Of Time is deeply personal,” says Drummer/vocalist L., “[Dealing] with a number of great losses I’ve experienced, and how time is a reminder that life goes on, doesn’t care, will never stop, even after we are long gone. It’ll just begin again for someone else.

Recorded by Sasha Stroud and mixed/mastered by Dan Lowndes, The Illusion Of Time features additional vocals by Ivan Caban and Dino Sommese, percussion by Sasha Stroud, and artwork by Karmazid.

So buckle up, click play on the full album premiere below, and let Funeral Leech take you on a journey through the darkest depths of the human psyche. I mean—really—can you think of a better way to spend your Wednesday?
