Country

Jelly Roll and his wife, podcaster and social media influencer Bunnie Xo, are one of country music’s most adorable couples, but their marriage hasn’t always been all roses.

Bunnie Xo turned to social media to reveal that the couple had to “rebuild” after breaking up in 2018 — and how that ultimately strengthened their marriage.

Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie Xo married in Las Vegas in 2016, but according to her TikTok, they didn’t fully commit to one another at that time. She posted a video of the couple looking as affectionate as always, writing, “Who knew us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back — would have put us on this wild journey called life.”

“We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016,” she added. “Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground.”

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have been very open about the fact that they both had substance abuse problems when they got together, at a time when he was a struggling artist and she was a sex worker catering to high-end clients. In the years since, he has turned his life around and started working with at-risk youth and young people who are incarcerated in the same way he once was, and she recently shared that she made a journey to sobriety after the couple got custody of Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee.

In a podcast clip she shared online, Bunnie explained that her past substance use included pills, cocaine and excess alcohol, adding that she was additionally motivated to quit by not wanting to turn out like her mother, who also struggled with addiction.

Bunnie also recently celebrated one year since canceling the more adult side of her subscription services and leaving sex work entirely.

“I was SO scared to let go of that part of my life & leave behind the money I was making — wasn’t sure how I’d make up that part of my business,” she wrote on Facebook. “But I had faith & let God have it & he made sure I made it back tenfold.”

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo renewed their wedding vows in August of 2023, in the same Vegas chapel where they married in 2016.
