Kanye West Previews Controversial Single As “Vultures” Misses Release Date

Hip Hop

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign failed to drop the first installment of their highly anticipated joint project, but they did preview a new Vultures cut, which raised eyebrows for its controversial content.

On Thursday (February 8), Kanye West and his collaborators previewed the song and others at the Vultures Volume 1 listening party at the United Center Chicago.

In the track titled “Carnival,” Ye compares himself to R. Kelly and Bill Cosby, who have both been convicted of sexual assault. He also calls himself the new Jesus Christ and likens himself to Diddy, another celeb plagued with sexual misconduct allegations.

“Anybody p##### off, gotta make them drink the urine/Now, I’m Ye Kelly, b####/Now I’m Bill Cosby, b####/Now I’m Puff Daddy rich,” Ye raps on “Carnival.”

He continues, “That’s ‘Me Too’ me rich/First she say she suck my dick/Then, she say she ain’t suck my dick/She ’gon take it up the ass like a ventriloquist/I mean, since Taylor Swift, since I had the Rollie on the wrist/I’m the new Jesus, b####, I turn water into Cris’.”

Although fans were waiting for Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign to drop Vultures Volume 1 at midnight Friday (February 9), the album is yet to appear.

Last month, the duo revealed the first in the three-part Vultures series would drop on February 9, with the subsequent instalments due to arrive on March 8 and April 5.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Ye shared a visual for Vultures song “Talking/Once Again,” which features a verse from daughter North West. He also posted multiple versions of the “Vultures” music videos, including one with verses from Lil Durk and Bump J.
