A$AP Rocky & The Gorillaz Collab Is Finally Here

Hip Hop

A$AP Rocky may have just premiered his and Westside Gunn’s 2023 collaboration with the Gorillaz during his recent performance across the pond.

On January 27, Rocky presented a new song called “Whiskey” at Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes in France along with a medley performance of his hits. Even though Rihanna, who supported the father of her children from the crowd, stole most of the spotlight at the event, “Whiskey” drew a fair deal of attention due to the featured artists tentatively billed on the record. You can hear both Gorillaz front man Damon Albarn’s backing vocals on the track along with Westside Gunn’s dynamic adlibs over the luxurious production.

Not to mention, last November Gunn remarked on Twitter (X) about his and Rocky’s legendary studio session with the Gorillaz, revealing they had worked on new music at the time but failing to provide a timeline of release.

“In the studio all night with the Brodie @asvpxrocky I still can’t believe he had me in there with the @gorillaz and don’t ask if we cooked something….. OF COURSE WE DID,” Westside Gunn wrote in a tweet featuring photos of the session.

However, much like Gunn’s initial tweet, following Rocky’s performance, there is no official word on when the record will be released.
