After a brief hiatus, R&B veteran Tank hinted at his return to music in 2024 via an Instagram post on his birthday (Jan. 1).
Tank shared a video of him doing a series of workouts in the gym before receiving a suit from a professional woman (played by Natasha Marc) with the caption “I’m Back.” It is likely that new music is being played in the background.
A few different producers on both Instagram and Twitter are teasing that their contribution is a part of Tank’s upcoming rollout.
Camper, who recently worked with Coco Jones and Maeta, commented on a birthday post asking for your top four Tank songs. “It’s no[t] out yet,” he responded.
Bizness Boi, who has worked with various artists, including Kiana Ledé, Fridayy, Kenny Lattimore, and PARTYNEXTDOOR, also dropped a hint about working on new music with Tank in the comments of an Instagram post. “We got a smash,”he wrote with the tags of songwriter Dirk Pate and producer Derrell Rideout.
There aren’t many other details about Tank’s upcoming comeback.
In August 2022, Tank released what was said to be his tenth and final album, R&B Money. The album was released under his label of the same name in partnership with Atlantic Records.
R&B Money produced multiple No. 1 hits, such as “Can’t Let It Show,” “I Deserve,” “Slow” featuring J. Valentine, and “See Through Love” featuring Chris Brown.
Tank is the only artist to have four hits from a single album reach the summit on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. Additionally, he totals eight chart-toppers on this chart.
His 10th set also includes features from Alex Isley, Vedo, Feather, Rotimi, Blaq Tuxedo and TVERSE.
R&B Money placed on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
During 2023, Tank was highly productive. He joined New Edition’s Legacy Tour and backed up Babyface at his first-ever Tiny Desk Concert. Later that month, Tank also performed his own solo Tiny Desk show.
Tank contributed to tracks by Dinner Party, JasonMartin, and Jon B. He co-wrote and co-produced “Waiting on You” for the latter act.
Furthermore, Tank and his former TGT bandmates, Ginuwine and Tyrese, hinted at a possible reunion last autumn, in addition to his role in a BET+ holiday movie, Favorite Son Christmas.
