MetalSucks’ Best Live Photos of 2023 as Chosen by the Photographers

Metal

Another year, another bounty of amazing concert photography has been featured on our humble little site. Thanks to the amazing talents of our contributing photographers, we’ve been able to get you as close to the action without having to risk getting a crowdsurfer’s boot to the back of your head. Honestly, it’s one of the coolest parts of covering metal.

As we said last year, we’re lucky to have such talented individuals willing to spend their time shooting these shows. Their keen eye for composition and excellent camera work has not only made for some great photo galleries over the last year, but their photos have illustrated scores of our stories as well, giving a much appreciated visual aspect to what we do here.

So to celebrate their work, we asked them to share their favorite photos of 2023. What follows are their selections, each in gallery form, below. From Sunn O))) to Ice Nine Kills, there’s a wide range of genres and bands represented in each gallery, which just goes to show the diversity we’re trying to promote here at the site.

We’re excited to see what awesome photos we’ll be able to get in 2024. With so many talented photographers contributing to MetalSucks and so many killer tours already on our radar, there’s one thing for certain — it’s going to be one hell of a year.
